Week 9? Power Outage... saved the pizza snacks lol

Bonjour (is what I would say if I was French, but I'm not lol)

Update for this week:

We had a LOT of crazy stuff going on this week lol. (Also it feels like I've been out for 2 days or all my life, so that's wack)

First off, we got 13 potentials! (aka people who said we can come back and talk to them about Jesus) SUPER exciting, considering we had to basically drop most of the people we were teaching... (some aren't progressing, some we haven't been able to get a hold of for a few months)

We also had a power outage on Wednesday, which was CRAZY. We woke up and the lights wouldn't turn on. And when we tried to call someone we found out that our phones didn't work either. So we went to our Ward Mission Leader's house for help (he has a generator) and we found out that the T-Mobile towers are in the area of the power outage.... so yeah... we didn't have working communication till like 10am. But our WML was super nice and he let us borrow his phone to do some calls :) they also fed us breakfast πŸ˜‹ (and let us put our food in their fridge/freezer... so we saved our pizza snacks haha - and other food. Mom, I promise I don't only eat pizza snacks πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚) and then we stayed the night at the North Bend bishop's house.

We also had zone conference this week, super spiritually uplifting πŸ‘Œ

We also had "exchanges" on Saturday, but it was super weird. Our Sister Training Leaders live in Auburn which is 40 min away, so we all just stayed in our area (usually you split up and one mixed companionship goes to each of the areas). But it was super helpful cuz we were helping someone move in! And it turns out both the husband and the wife served their missions in the Seattle Washington mission as well, which is wild!

Scripture of the week:

2 Nephi 4:28

"Awake, my soul! No longer droop in sin. Rejoice, O my heart, and give place no more for the enemy of my soul."

I love this scripture :) I think it's super interesting that rejoicing leads to no place for "the enemy of my soul", aka Satan. It leads me to think about Alma 41:10, how "wickedness never was happiness".

It makes me think that righteousness leads to happiness, and happiness leads to righteousness, which is REALLY awesome, because we're supposed to have joy in this life. As we focus on our Savior and learn how to apply His Atoning power in our lives we can have true joy, unfettered by sin. Instead of being bound by Satan, we can bind him in our lives as we look to Jesus Christ, the source of all eternal joy. :))

Quotes this week:

•"PUT THE TACO DOWN" -Sister Smart

•"YES I have emergency air heads left!" -Sister Briggs

•(overheard at zone conference) "how are they so clean?" "they're sisters" -random Elders πŸ˜‚

Bonus Joke:

What did the magician say to the fisherman?

"Pick a cod, pick a cod" πŸ˜‚

Fun Fact: if you wrote on a mirror with expo markers in the bathroom and a hot shower makes the mirror fog up and then condense then the expo marker will move if a drip of water hits it
