Week 28: Faith and Prayer (and pizza)

Image
Bonjour Update for this week: So transfers are today, and I'm gonna need to be in a trio for like a day because guess what... I'M TRAINING. I guessed it like at the beginning of the week, I had a feeling. I guess God really does prepare you. He qualifies the called. And Sister Cardon is going to the area that is neighbors with my old area, which is fun! Also, in this area we have members of the ward signing up to feed us on the weekends, but this weekend we didn't have anyone signed up. One of the ward missionaries that's in charge of the sign up sheet asked around for us and we got to eat at our Stake President's house. (We had pizza made in their pizza oven and it was really really good) They sent a picture of me to my mom and my mom told me that my older brother had prayed this week that I would be well fed. It takes faith to get an answer, but it also takes faith to recognize the answer when it comes. Looking at all the pieces put together, that was definitely a...

Week 27: When Jonny Comes Marching Home

GOOD MORNING but actually afternoon XD Update for this week: We had lessons with Chris and Halle and Tang and both of them went FANTASTIC. It was very good :)) We also referred one of our friends because she moved to Boston and natively speaks Cantonese, so we referred her to some elders there who just HAPPEN to speak cantonese also and we did a 3-way call for our last lesson and it went SO WELL. The Spirit was so strong and we were able to talk about Jesus Christ and the Elders shared Alma 7:11-13 in Cantonese and it was just so good :)) Scripture of the week: Alma 33:8, 11 "Yea, thou art merciful unto thy children when they cry unto thee, to be heard of thee and not of men, and thou wilt hear them. "And thou didst hear me because of mine afflictions and my sincerity; and it is because of thy Son that thou hast been thus merciful unto me, therefore I will cry unto thee in all mine afflictions, for in thee is my joy; for thou hast turned thy judgments away from me, because of...

Week 26: Time is like a bird... it flies

I lowkey forgot it was Monday Update for this week: We had 18 lessons this week, it was CRAZY!!!  we also got referrals for 2 different families! The first is the Brombergs, they said they're "church shopping" because when they start having kids they want them to grow up in a good community with a good spiritual foundation :)) The 2nd is Tabg and Yuan and we haven't actually met them yet, but we have a lesson set up for next Sunday!! Scripture of the week: Luke 6:27-28 "But I say unto you which hear, love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you" -Jesus I love this scripture because Jesus is telling us what He does to be perfect. As we learn more about Him it's easier to be like Him and as we become more like Him we become happier :) Funny quote: "I'm seeing sparkles" "Are you sure it's not spiderwebs?" Fun Fact: We got locked out of our car this week...

Week 25: Happy Mother's Day :))

Tres Leches everyone  (... I know what I said) Update for this week: Happy mothers day!!!!!!!  This week we met lots of people and the names I liked the most were Mickie and Mack Macammon  There was also a Mary who gave us plants, so we did some gardening today :))) And Mike who's a pastry chef from New York was talking to Karen from England when we met them, so they both had super strong accents and it was awesome  Scripture of the week: Alma 42:15 "Now the plan of mercy could not be brought about except an atonement should be made. Therefore, God himself atoneth for the sins of the world, to bring about the plan of mercy, to appease the demands of justice, that God might be a perfect, just God, and a merciful God also." I love this scripture because God provided a plan for all of us to achieve happiness and joy through His grace and mercy, all we need to do is accept His terms and come unto Him. :) Funny quote: "I like to stereotype Irish people and put them in mem...

Bienvenido (I don't actually know if that's a word, I think it's welcome in Spanish?) Update for this week: This week was awesome!!! We had 13 lessons this week, which is AMAZING. And they were all really solid, so that's cool :)) Also we made French toast with the Sisters in our district today and it was so fun! I've also been getting into reading Revelations in the Bible, and its SO COOL, I've made so many connections to the Book of Mormon and D&C and it's just so fun :))) Scripture of the week: 2 Nephi 9:41 "O then, my beloved brethren, come unto the Lord, the Holy One. Remember that his paths are righteous. Behold, the way for man is narrow, but it lieth in a straight course before him, and the keeper of the gate is the Holy One of Israel; and he employeth no servant there; and there is none other way save it be by the gate; for he cannot be deceived, for the Lord God is his name." I love this scripture because God knows how we can come to ...
