Week 2: The Adventures of Missing Socks ๐Ÿค”

Hey All!!

It's been a fantastic week here at the MTC in Fruit Heights, very busy and lots of spiritual experiences. :)

My companion, Sister Eves, and I taught our first 3 lessons this week and it was very exciting. I can definitely improve, but overall I think it went pretty well. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Also we had to watch 2 devotionals this week instead of 1 because of Thanksgiving, but I totally forgot about the Thanksgiving devotional so I watched it yesterday instead of on Thursday! XD

This week we learned a lot about teaching to people's needs and we "graduated" from teaching the first lesson in Preach my Gospel! (which doesn't really happen, but we're moving on anyways lol). We also got a lot of scriptures and stuff in class to use for different resources, so my wall is filling up pretty well! I'm also getting some more tags in gospel library so that's good too.

Spiritual thought: revelation recorded is revelation kept

- If you give all you can to the Lord, He will return more than you can receive. Obedience to Him and His commandments can and will always bring the miracles and blessings to your life that you need (not necessarily that you want, but God will always address your needs).

- "A scripture verse is worth a thousand feelings" -Sister Hillam (MTC teacher)

-"All that God expects of us is that we try, but we have to really try" -Hinckley

Funny Things:

- At this point, you're probably wondering about the title, and the reason is that I am missing a sock and I have no idea where it is. So my solution for why it's missing is that it is having an adventure and then I will find it somewhere and be like "oh there it is" and I'll have to wash it again because it will be all dirty and I will never know where it went.

- This week we were practicing the teaching skill of yielding to your companion, so we had to teach the Plan of Salvation lesson and whenever the teacher said to switch we had to switch immediately even if we were in the middle of a sentence. Some of my favorite "switch" jokes are "harry caught the golden SWITCH" (Brother Astle- MTC teacher) and "Nintendo switch" (-Elder Anderson) XD

Fun Fact: If you give my niece sweet potatoes she will not like it.

P.S. We had a combined lesson with another district and the other teacher, lo and behold, was JON DeALBA (for those who don't know he's an old friend of my older siblings, apparently our families used to carpool but I don't remember that lol)!!!

P.P.S I was in a workshop having a good spiritual time when in the chat all of a sudden there's an Elder Stowell! So I asked him in the chat if he was related to a Julia Stowell who I knew up at USU, and he says no. BUT THEN another missionary says "Sister Hale? BECCA??" and I was like "TAWNI???" And so fun story, Tawni (Sister George) and I were in the SAME WORKSHOP and if I had never asked about that one missionary's relations, I would never have known! So after that I guessed her email and I was right and I'm so proud of myself. ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜‚

P.S.P.S. I don't really like taking pictures... So I don't have a lot.... But here are some for all you who really want pictures.

P.P.P.S.S. If you want to read the adventure I made up for my sock let me know and I can send it to you.
