Week 3: Bribed for Referrals

The prodigal sock has returned! It was placed on my doorknob by my little sister during class this week XD

This week was a fun time, as always. Sister Eves and I taught 4 different TRC's this week and we have 5 lined up for next week, so that's exciting. (TRC's are basically practice lessons, for those who don't know)

Sister Eves is literally the best companion ever, she's so uplifting and kind and thoughtful. This week on a day at some point we exchanged jokes and hers was "In the fall, what does the yellow tree say to the green tree? Green was SO last season" πŸ˜‚ Definitely a good bad joke lol.

We also taught a couple lessons this week that didn't go quite the best, but we definitely learned from them, so that's good!

My lovely companion also told me that in a breakout room with another Elder in our district, he called us both the "master Yodas" of the district, which is a HIGH compliment XD

Also this week, Sister Eves and Sister Haycock and I got together to read a talk by James E Faust called "What I want my son to know before he leaves on his mission" and it was very good, would highly recommend, (even if you're not going on a mission, or already are XD).

ALSO I met my mission president and his wife over zoom this week and they're super sweet :)) I almost got on an hour early because of time zones though πŸ˜‚  But they made me smile, and then I literally couldn't stop for like an hour πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Brother Astle (one of my MTC teachers) is also fantastic. He had someone be a substitute on a day, and then to apologize to us the next day he played "Nearer my God to Thee" on an alto recorder and it was fantastic πŸ˜‚πŸ‘Œ

I almost forgot... I promise I didn't mean to clickbait everyone πŸ˜‚ This week we combined with another district a couple times to have lesson demos and stuff and for one of those demos we were practicing how to ask for referrals... Sister Eves and I were in a breakout room with these 3 Elders and we got to know them a bit because the teacher didn't say to start, but then the teacher DID say that it was 1/2way done or something and they starting panicking and they were like "OH WAIT ummmm do you have any referrals???" And I was like "umm no" (because that's not how you're supposed to get referrals) and one of the Elders was like "I'll give you 20 bucks" and I was like "what no", it was REALLY funny πŸ˜‚

Storytime:

I had a sticky note on my door that said "Do not Disturb" because I was teaching a lesson and people keep walking into my closet willy nilly whenever they feel like (but only when it's time for dinner lol) and then when I was done I put it on my scripture marker things and then when I had my little sister in she was like "are they sleeping?" and I was so confused for like 2 seconds and then was like "yes"

Fun Fact: Today is my maternal Grandma's birthday :)

Fun Fact #2: If you google "fun facts for every day of the week" you might get an ok fun fact (idk, I've never done it)

P.P.S I'm also making a christmas dress, that's something I'll get a picture of when it's finished lol I promise... Hopefully XD (I'm still debating on whether I'll bring it with me or not when I leave, but I think I will)

Happy Easter :)) Update for this week: A lot of fun stuff happened this week! On Wednesday we were at the church waiting for Teresa and her family because we had a lesson set up, but they ended up being late... so one of the counselors in the Bishopric recruited us to talk to the 14-15 yo boys about missionary work   it was awesome, and they had really good questions! Missionary work is a good time :) On Thursday, we took a member of the Samoan ward tracting with us because she's in the MTC! It was super fun, and she gave us a ton of tips for finding Polynesian people  Friday was Zone Conference and it was AMAZING. Finn Hill is awesome and also odd XD Update for this week: Holy cow I LOVE my new companions!!!! They are both so cool and such good missionaries :) Sister Misi is an AMAZING teacher and so good at asking questions and also very artistic. Sister Beckstead is such a good example and is just so sweet and I'm sad she's gonna leave to her original assignment on the 21st because this trio life is just the best ever :( but she will do amazing things in Brazil too! This week we've been SUPER busy, I've been getting to know members and learning names and stuff, and we've had some lessons, tried to find people to teach, and also met a member who has a sword collection, and also antique/replica firearms, and bows and arrows (longbow and a recurve, none of them modern). Week 2.7 Happy Valentine's Day ❤

Mālō e lelei everyone, happy Valentine's day! Update for this week: We had so many people cancel on us this week and I just want you all to know that although I was never a fan of the Superbowl, I am now very much NOT a fan of the Superbowl  This week we got to see Angela again, and we got her number! She is seriously SO ELECT   we were texting off and on the last couple of days, and she told us about how what she's been reading in the Book of Mormon has been helping her and it is absolutely the SWEETEST!!! She's going through a hard time right now, so please pray for her!! We also met a lady named Flanna!!! We didn't know her, but called a number we had for her on Thursday and talked with her over the phone. THEN she said we could come back on Friday, so we taught her then and made her a friend   she is super cool too, and said could come back next week :)) She told us she wants her whole family to go to church, but she doesn't like going to their church becaus...
