Week 28: Faith and Prayer (and pizza)
Bonjour
Update for this week:
So transfers are today, and I'm gonna need to be in a trio for like a day because guess what... I'M TRAINING. I guessed it like at the beginning of the week, I had a feeling. I guess God really does prepare you. He qualifies the called. And Sister Cardon is going to the area that is neighbors with my old area, which is fun!
Also, in this area we have members of the ward signing up to feed us on the weekends, but this weekend we didn't have anyone signed up. One of the ward missionaries that's in charge of the sign up sheet asked around for us and we got to eat at our Stake President's house. (We had pizza made in their pizza oven and it was really really good) They sent a picture of me to my mom and my mom told me that my older brother had prayed this week that I would be well fed. It takes faith to get an answer, but it also takes faith to recognize the answer when it comes. Looking at all the pieces put together, that was definitely a miracle and an answer to prayer. I know prayer is real and that even if you can't always see the results, blessings do come because of the immediate goodness of God. If you've been waiting for an answer to your prayers, keep praying! It will come!
Scripture of the week:
1 Corinthians 2:1-5
"And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.
For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.
And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.
And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:
That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God."
I just found this scripture and I love it. It's such an important reminder to me that I need to have the spirit of God with me. Because our faith doesn't come from logic or knowledge. Faith comes from hope and then becomes knowledge. When we hope for something and then feel the spirit, we are encouraged and our faith grows. This is why it's so important to have the spirit with us always, so our faith can grow and be unshakeable in the power of God.
Funny quote:
•"Oh the weather outside is frightful" "I love frozen" "that's not in frozen" "I know" -me and Sister Cardon
Fun Fact:
There's an optometrist in this ward who gave me like a case of contact lens solution #blessed
