Week 27: When Jonny Comes Marching Home

GOOD MORNING but actually afternoon XD

Update for this week:
We had lessons with Chris and Halle and Tang and both of them went FANTASTIC. It was very good :))

We also referred one of our friends because she moved to Boston and natively speaks Cantonese, so we referred her to some elders there who just HAPPEN to speak cantonese also and we did a 3-way call for our last lesson and it went SO WELL. The Spirit was so strong and we were able to talk about Jesus Christ and the Elders shared Alma 7:11-13 in Cantonese and it was just so good :))

Scripture of the week:
Alma 33:8, 11
"Yea, thou art merciful unto thy children when they cry unto thee, to be heard of thee and not of men, and thou wilt hear them.
"And thou didst hear me because of mine afflictions and my sincerity; and it is because of thy Son that thou hast been thus merciful unto me, therefore I will cry unto thee in all mine afflictions, for in thee is my joy; for thou hast turned thy judgments away from me, because of thy Son"

I love this scripture because we can pray no matter where we are or what we're doing and God will immediately answer our prayer. It may not be in the way we expect or want but always in the way we need. This week I have been studying the "immediate goodness of God" and one story I love is of Alma the elder and his people who were taken captive by the Lamanites, and they prayed for deliverance but weren't immediately delivered. Instead, they were blessed with strength, their burdens were eased, and they were able to have joy even in the hardest circumstances! I know that whatever circumstances we are in, if we pray sincerely and really listen for the answer I know we will be able to have peace, joy, hope, and strength beyond our own, because the source of our power is Jesus Christ.

My brother (Jonathan) got home from his mission last Tuesday!!! Hence the title XD

Happy Easter :)) Update for this week: A lot of fun stuff happened this week! On Wednesday we were at the church waiting for Teresa and her family because we had a lesson set up, but they ended up being late... so one of the counselors in the Bishopric recruited us to talk to the 14-15 yo boys about missionary work   it was awesome, and they had really good questions! Missionary work is a good time :) On Thursday, we took a member of the Samoan ward tracting with us because she's in the MTC! It was super fun, and she gave us a ton of tips for finding Polynesian people  Friday was Zone Conference and it was AMAZING. I learned a lot, especially from the discussion we had about General Conference. I LOVE Elder Uchtdorf's talk, President Nelson's talk, Elder Eyring's talk, and Elder Klebingรถt's talk. Finn Hill is awesome and also odd XD Update for this week: Holy cow I LOVE my new companions!!!! They are both so cool and such good missionaries :) Sister Misi is an AMAZING teacher and so good at asking questions and also very artistic. Sister Beckstead is such a good example and is just so sweet and I'm sad she's gonna leave to her original assignment on the 21st because this trio life is just the best ever :( but she will do amazing things in Brazil too! This week we've been SUPER busy, I've been getting to know members and learning names and stuff, and we've had some lessons, tried to find people to teach, and also met a member who has a sword collection, and also antique/replica firearms, and bows and arrows (longbow and a recurve, none of them modern). Week 2.7 Happy Valentine's Day ❤

Mฤlล e lelei everyone, happy Valentine's day! Update for this week: We had so many people cancel on us this week and I just want you all to know that although I was never a fan of the Superbowl, I am now very much NOT a fan of the Superbowl  This week we got to see Angela again, and we got her number! She is seriously SO ELECT   we were texting off and on the last couple of days, and she told us about how what she's been reading in the Book of Mormon has been helping her and it is absolutely the SWEETEST!!! She's going through a hard time right now, so please pray for her!! We also met a lady named Flanna!!! We didn't know her, but called a number we had for her on Thursday and talked with her over the phone. THEN she said we could come back on Friday, so we taught her then and made her a friend   she is super cool too, and said could come back next week :)) She told us she wants her whole family to go to church, but she doesn't like going to their church becaus...
