Week 3.2 .... the final countdown

HAPPY SAINT PATRICK'S DAY.... week lol, I'm a little late but that's ok XD

**DON'T SKIP THIS BIT I NEED YOUR HELP**

So I was wondering.... why doesn't Mother Gothel want Rapunzel's hair to be braided???? It might take some effort, but so does brushing her hair every day, and having it braided would keep it untangled (for the most part) and also stronger in general

So. What is your best story?? I will attach my thought at the end XD

Update for this week:

This week was pretty hype :))

Except Sister Perkins had some family sadness, so please pray for them! :((

But other than that, it was super awesome :))

This week was funny because we went tracting in this one place and found a bunch of people interested in the gospel on ONE DAY, so we decided that was a good idea and kept tracting this week.... we ended up getting kicked out of 2 different apartment complexes because we weren't allowed to tract there? So that was funny

This Sunday was Ward conference, and a couple members invited their nonmember friends! It was awesome!! Also the choir was SO good!

So yeah anyways since a bunch of members were like "I need you to teach [my kids/this person's kids/my friends/my relative]" I counted and as long as we actually get in contact with these people we're gonna be adding like 8 people to our teaching pool PLEASE PRAY FOR THAT!!!!!!!!

Also after church they had a "light refreshment" (aka a full buffet for lunch XD) and we got to sit next to our friend Teresa and we had an impromptu lesson about baptism!!! She knows it's the right thing for her and she does have a testimony of the gospel, she's just nervous about the unknown XD so we're gonna have another lesson on Thursday about baptism, please pray for her!!!!

Also y'all it's transfers today!!! I'm getting a new companion and staying in the Tongan ward in SO HYPED :))) (like literally when we found out on Saturday night I couldn't sleep )

AND GET THIS the Sister that's coming to be my comp was trained by one of the Sisters I trained!!! (So in missionary terms I'm her grandma lol)

Also you know the traditional Tongan wrap thingy that they wear sometimes? It's called a kie kie :)

My thought about Mother Gothel:

I think it was a control thing... Mother Gothel didn't want Rapunzel to feel in control at all, only weak and helpless. Rapunzel's braided hair was a symbol, a reminder, of not only her disobedience to her "mother" but also her good experience in the world, and her strength and courage she found there.

So. We all have our own symbols and reminders and actions that help us feel in control, whether in good times or bad. This can be as simple as making your bed, brushing your teeth, or eating something. The thing is, it has to be YOUR CHOICE to give it that effect for you.

I think God is so good because He allows us to make our own choices! He doesn't force us or constrain us or control us (like Mother Gothel). But He does lead us and guide us and TEACH us how we can access His help and strength (also known as the Atonement of Jesus Christ, or grace). By choosing to pray, and read our scriptures, and do little things every day to build our relationship with God, we take control of our own lives and learning. It gives us the opportunity to GROW, without being sheltered. It makes us stronger :))
